Shane Connolly, who was appointed Artistic Director of Flowers for the Day for the royal wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (Prince William and Catherine Middleton), earned a degree in psychology and spent the first year of his career in research. After one year in academia, he left to study floristry with Pulbrook and Gouldin London. In 1989 Shane opened his own company, where he became known for creating timeless, artisan, floral arrangements in a natural, straightforward manner. His overall vision is one that is inspired and unique.
In addition to designing for corporate and private events, Shane counts the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Royal Academy of Art amongst his most valued clients, enjoying the challenge of creating events for their ever-changing exhibitions.
In 2005 Shane was chosen by TRH the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall to create all of the flowers for their marriage and Service of Dedication at Windsor and in 2006 he was awarded a Royal Warrant of Appointment to HRH the Prince of Wales.
He has authored three books, Table Flowers, Shane Connolly's Wedding Flowers, and The Secret Language of Flowers.
